Wisdom about divorce

My parents were married 45 years when my father died, and if he were still alive, today would be their 58th wedding anniversary.

I just celebrated my 23rd anniversary.

Thank God and knock on wood, I haven’t experienced divorce firsthand, but the effects of divorce ripple out into the lives of siblings, friends and neighbours. Is there anyone in North America who hasn’t been affected by divorce?

MJ’s Tuesday post on Emjayandthem’s Blog was a heartfelt outpouring of advice to her son, her daughter-in-law, and to everyone touched by divorce. Her wisdom touched me deeply. I wished that every person going through a divorce could find it within themselves to follow her advice. I wished that every child of divorced or divorcing parents could read it to put everything into perspective.

Please read her Called to Peace post.
